AI interpreter for live events and meetings

Event Translate works as an AI interpreter for live speech. It listens to the speaker and sends translated audio and captions to each attendee’s phone, with no interpreter team to book.

Interpreter-free events

Why use live AI translation for interpreter-free events?

No interpreter team to book

Each target language is a setting, not another pair of interpreters to schedule, brief and pay for the whole day. Add a language the week of the event, or on the morning itself.

Follows speakers who switch language

The AI interpreter automatically detects 70+ spoken languages, so a speaker who changes language mid-session is still translated for every listener.

Audio and captions together

Listeners hear translated speech through their own headphones or read live captions on the same page, whichever suits the room.

Terminology you control

A custom glossary keeps product names, speaker names and specialist terms consistent, and the AI live summary helps late arrivals catch up.

How to set up live translation for interpreter-free events

Start with the speech source: one clear feed is all the AI interpreter needs. Then test the listener path with the languages you plan to offer.

  1. Connect the speech source

Create the Stage, choose the source and target languages, then connect the microphone or venue feed the speaker will use. Check it at the gain the operator will use live.

  2. Add terms and rehearse

Add names and specialist terms to the glossary, then rehearse a few minutes of real speech. Treat around 0.5 s of translation delay after a natural speech break as a planning reference.

  3. Share the QR code

Put the QR code or link on the opening slide, signage and joining email. Attendees open it in their phone browser, pick a language and listen or read.

One microphone, many languages

One clear speech feed is translated into every target language listeners choose, at the simpler 1× usage rate.

Multi-mic for panels

Use two isolated L/R channels when several speakers need independent mic processing. This Multi-mic mode uses the shared 2× credit factor.

No app to install

The QR code opens in the phone’s browser, so attendees start listening straight away rather than downloading an app at the door.

Estimate AI interpretation credits

Credits follow broadcast time, target languages and mic mode. This illustration uses one hour and two target languages; use the pricing calculator for your own programme.

On-demand credits start from £4 an hour for one target language, with no monthly or annual fee.

One speaker

A single microphone or combined venue feed.

1 hour × 2 target languages × 1 = 120 credits

Panel with Multi-mic

Two isolated mic channels for independent processing.

1 hour × 2 target languages × 2 = 240 credits

  • Listeners do not add to the price: the cost depends on minutes, target languages and mic mode only.
  • Add specialist terms to the glossary before the event; clear source audio matters more than any other setting.
  • For a one-off event, on-demand credits fit best; for regular sessions, compare the monthly plan on the pricing page.

Live translation for interpreter-free events: FAQ

What is an AI interpreter?

An AI interpreter listens to a live speaker, translates the speech as it is spoken and plays it back as synthetic voice or captions. Event Translate does this for a whole audience at once: each attendee scans a QR code and picks a language on their own phone.

Can AI interpretation replace a human interpreter?

For talks, conferences, tours and services with clear audio, AI interpretation covers many languages at much lower cost. Where every nuance carries legal, medical or diplomatic risk, a qualified human interpreter remains the safer choice.

How much delay does an AI interpreter add?

Plan for around 0.5 s of translation delay after a natural speech break. Rehearse with the real speaker and audio feed to judge it in your venue.

Do attendees need to install an app?

No. Attendees scan a QR code and listen or read in their phone’s browser. Headphones are only needed for the translated audio.
